Dr. Derek Lou is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Houston, Texas, “it is my singular goal to bring the benefits of plastic surgery to those who need it, and contrary to what you may have seen or heard, it can be for almost everyone.”

At first glance most people find plastic surgery to seem complicated, confusing, expensive, and mysterious. As a conscientious surgeon, Dr. Derek Lou is here to help you understand what it takes for you to reach your aesthetic goals utilizing non-surgical or surgical solutions that the art of plastic surgery can provide. Dr. Derek Lou is skilled in breast augmentation, breast reconstructive surgery, liposuction, tummy tuck, mid body lift, blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty or nose job. Dr. Lou is a prideful educator and thrives on making sure you know everything you need to make your choice when it comes to all aesthetic options.

Phillip N. Freeman MD, FACS – Biography

Phillip N. Freeman is a native Texan, born in Dalhart, Texas. Dr. Freeman graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1969 with a B.S. He graduated with honors from the University of Louisville in 1973 receiving his D.M.D. and 1983 receiving his MD. He completed residency training at Southwestern Medical School Dallas in maxillofacial surgery, University of Tennessee Memphis in general surgery, and Baylor College of Medicine, Houston in plastic surgery. After completing his plastic surgery training, he entered private practice in Houston in 1988 and has maintained a highly respected practice in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Freeman is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery which is the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

In 1994, he was elected as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a prestigious organization that recognizes excellence in clinical care. Dr. Freeman was elected for membership in 1997 into the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASPS), which recognizes plastic surgeons for their expertise and experience in cosmetic surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic and Surgery, Texas Society for Plastic Surgery, the Houston Society of Plastic Surgery. He has articles published in major medical journals, and has been speaker for both local and national.

He continues his research in tissue repair with his interdisciplinary team of colleagues and assistance from Wake Forest School of Medicine.  Developing lab-based tissues that may reduce adverse side effects in surgical tissue recovery, his research brings added knowledge to the creation and use of replacement tissues for use in maxillofacial and cosmetic surgeries.  In a collaborative effort with Wake Forest the research will soon be published on the advanced medical topic later this year.

Dr. Freeman has accepted a full-time position as an Associate Professor at the University of Texas with the department of maxillofacial surgery and cosmetic surgery.  Additionally, his regular practice recently moved to the The Methodist Hospital system located in the Medical Center.  The practice opened its doors to a growing clientele in the Smith Tower on August of 2011.

He regularly travels to third world countries to bring desperately needed surgical care as part of a team of surgeons.  These good charitable works are done through non-profit organizations–some local affiliations and others nationally recognized organizations comprised of colleagues from his practice and his instructional work with the University.  As a part of these highly respected teams of surgeons, Dr. Freeman graciously gives his time and talent to restore cleft lip and palate deformities.  His charitable deeds has included his work with Faith in Practice Surgical Care for the needy in Guatemala and others.  Beyond his public health contributions aboard, Dr. Freeman has worked with Mexican missionaries in building churches for local residents of Chiapas, Mexico as well as building homes for indigent families in Juarez, Mexico through Quest Men’s Ministries of The Woodlands United Methodist Church.  Dr. Freeman is dedicated to continuing in these efforts and plans to take on more mission and care work with foreign countries in the future.

In addition to a very busy Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice, Dr. Freeman also has a very busy family life. Dr. Freeman has four sons, age 24, 22, 20, and 17. Dr Freeman is married to Lisa Hanrahan-Freeman who has two daughters age 20 and 17. As a family they are very active and involved in many school, church, and charity activities. Dr. Freeman also enjoys a variety of extra-curricular activities including fishing, hunting, snow skiing, scuba diving and many other activities.
