Skin Pin-Micro Needling, Vampire Facial, and Vampire Facelift

Want to turn back the hands of time? Reverse sun damage? Erase deep wrinkles and crow’s feet? How about erasing deep acne scars and pitting? Or even stretch marks?

Finally, there is a non-surgical option that achieves all these goals. The Vampire Facial also known as the Platelet Rich Plasma Facial, utilizes your body’s own natural healing ability to stimulate skin rejuvenation, resulting in wrinkle smoothing and skin firming. Available as both an injectable known as a Vampire Face lift and topical treatment, PRP is on the cutting edge of regenerative therapies known as the Vampire Facial.

The Vampire Facial (as seen on Kim Kardashian) is an in-office treatment that uses a patented technology to prepare your own blood, isolating 8 different growth factors which are then delivered directly into your skin to stimulate your skin’s natural rejuvenation, resulting in firmer, smoother skin.

All areas of the face and body can be treated.  Lines and wrinkles around mouth, sun damage on neck and chest areas, acne scarring and stretch marks.

Vampire Facial is also known as Medical Microneedling with Platelet Enriched Plasma (PRP). It is a 100% organic, minimally invasive procedure used to rejuvenate your skin. Vampire Facials can lift and tighten your skin, while diminishing wrinkles, photo aging and pores. It is also effective in treating stretch marks on the body and acne scars on the face.

At Renew Body Contouring & MedSpa we use “Collagen Pin” for micro-needling, it is the latest innovation in fractional no ablative skin regeneration therapy, used to create micro channels in the skin. This intentional skin injury stimulates healing process enhancing your own collagen and elastin production. It also allows better penetration of topically applied products including PRP, or Factor 5 our growth factor serum with 350 growth factors, leaving your skin smoother, fresher, tighter and more uniform.

PRP is made from your own blood and it involves highly concentrated Platelets and Growth Factors to naturally stimulate your own collagen remodeling and new skin cells production, resulting in smoother, younger looking skin.

What conditions are treated with Vampire Facial?

– Aging skin – fine line, wrinkles, sagging, dullness, poor tone and texture
– Acne scars
– Stretch marks

How Vampire Facial is done?

Patient skin is numbed with the topical anesthetic x 30 minutes. During that time we draw a small amount of your blood (like regular blood test). The blood sample is spun in the centrifuge to separate Plasma rich in Platelets and Growth Factors (PRP). When the skin is numbed a technician lightly presses and glides the activated Collagen Pin across your skin and creates a pattern of micro channels. Sensations may vary, but for most patients it is well tolerated and feels like sandpaper moving across your skin. Usually there are pinpoint-bleeding spots created, assuring that the treatment reached the appropriate depth. To enhance the results we typically use Hialuronic Acid (helps skin hydration) and/or Copper Peptide (helps skin healing) as gliding creams. However, with the VF we needle the PRP in to the skin by simply spreading it over your skin to penetrate inside through created micro-channels to stimulate skin repair and rejuvenation. Your face will feel extremely tight and have the sensation of a sunburn for up to 2 ours post treatment. some bruising can occur. Please see Renew Pre and Post Treatment Care Downloads.

How many treatments are needed?

Although one Vampire Facial treatment will leave long lasting rejuvenating effects on your skin, at Renew we recommend optimal results in a series of 4-6 treatments depending on age and skin rejuvenation, this can be done with or without PRP. The results are visible within 2-3 weeks and continue to improve with each additional treatment. Touch up treatments are recommended every 6-12 months.

Are there any contraindications?

VF can be used on all skin colors and types. There are very few contraindications including active skin infection, keloids, bleeding disorders, uncontrolled chronic medical conditions and certain medications- Accutane, Blood thinners, Immun-supresants etc. At Renew we always recommend you consult physician to see if you can have this procedure done.

What are the side effects?

Typically the skin will appear pink for 1-3 days, but mineral makeup can be applied next day. Very Rarely infection, scaring, hypo or hyperpigmentation can develop, so it is important to consult one of our experts or your doctor to make sure that you are a good candidate for this procedure.

What is the difference between Vampire Facial and Vampire Facelift?

Vampire Facial involves microneedling and topical PRP application, but no injections are involved.
Vampire Facelift involves injecting filler (Restylane) to correct volume depletion and is followed by injecting Calcium activated PRP, to stimulate skin rejuvenation fill in fine lines and wrinkles and plump up loss of volume. Both procedures can be used alternatively.
